OMG!!!

So I was more than a little Star Struck and totally a blubbering idiot. But it was TIM HOLTZ people *insert Squeal here*. I have a Ranger Class tomorrow so hopefully I'm over my dorkness and I'm able to concentrate on my projects.

Birthday Blog Hop!!!

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you.

Happy Birthday Dear Tracy,

Happy Birthday to you!!!!!

If you are just starting with me, this post is part of a Birthday Blog Hop for Tracy Jackson of Stamping Seasons. I have the extreme honor of being part of her (and Lou's) design team over at Southern Girls Challenge Blog. Tracy is so talented and such a wonderful person that a Birthday Hop is definitely in order. Make sure you scroll to the bottom of this post to enter for a chance to win some Candy Candy I have up for grabs, before you continue on with the hop!

Ok, so what better image for a birthday card than a little girl in her birthday suit. Don't ya just love her little bum. I absolutely love this Mo Manning image. It has definitely got to be my new favorite (I know, I know, I say that at least once a month). I gave feather blending another go on this card and I have to say, I'm much happier with the result. I hope you like it Tracy!

So once you have hopped to the last blog, make sure you stop by Tracy's Blog and give her some Birthday Love. Tell her that Michelle Singer sent you so that she gets the hint about this surprise Birthday Blog Hop.

So have you entered your name below for my Blog Candy? You have, Ok, then let's get our "Hop On" and head on over to the next stop in this birthday hop. This would be the blog of my fellow Southern Girls teamie, the lovely and Uber talented Alicia from Time to Create. If you have time, leave her some love. :)

Hair Inspired Card!!!

This card was totally inspired by my new hairdo although the way it looked in my head and the way it turned out on paper are two totally different things. I would have played with it a little more but this card is for the Southern Girls Flower Challenge and I ran out of time. The left hand side of this card is driving me nuts. lol

The image used on this card is a Digi from The Paper Shelter who is one of the sponsors over at Southern Girls. I'm not used to using such bright colors but I think I'm feeling as washed out as all the Vintage colors that are popular now and I'm cravin' color. I paper pieced the flower to add a little dimension to the card. I might still add one more layer for the center of the flower.
Here is a picture of my hair in case you were wondering how on earth my hair could inspire this card. I love funky colored hair and my stylist is awesome.

Copics Used:
Flower: B02, B00, RV13, RV10, Y38, Y35, YG09, YG07, YG06
Bugs: B02, B00, RV13, RV10, C5, E11, E13, E09, E07, R27
Shadow: C1

Brads, Gems or Dew Drops

The Southern Girls Challenge this fortnight is to use Brads, Gems or Dew Drops. It was my intention to use all three but I couldn't find my dew drops so I had to settle for brads and gems. The international challenge sponsor for this challenge is Wild Orchid Crafts, Woohoo!!! I only wish I could have entered the challenge. lol
This card has a lot of dimension. The heart I used was cut out of chipboard. I then covered it with a black paint dabber, Perfect Pearl powder and set it with Forever Red Perfect Pearl Mist. I know, a lot of work for something I was just going to cover up but I think it added to the look of the card. The flowers, of course, are from Wild Orchid and I inked the edges of the outside flowers with Fired Brick Distress Ink. I also placed a small crystal in the center of each flower.

Challenges I'm putting this card in:
Sweet Stamps - Flowers
Bunny Zoe - Flowers Everywhere
Lexi's Creations - Flowers
Creative Cowgirls - Hearts
Crafty Calendar - Love
Mami Doodles - Flower Card
The Stamp Man - Hearts Theme

Canvas Clock

Before I share my project today, I wanted to share a song with you. This is "Sweater Song" by Hedley and I think it's become my new favorite song. I love Jacob, he is the best.

On to my canvas clock.

I hang this clock on the wall year round and I just swap out the paper and photo when the seasons change. The photo is of my little boy playing in the snow. It was the first snowfall this year so there wasn't much snow on the ground. The paper I used is BoBunny, I think it's called Midnight Frost. When I saw the snowflake on this paper, I knew it would be perfect for my clock.

Challenges I'm putting my clock in:
Penny's Challenges - Anything Goes
Sisterhood of Crafters - Anything Goes
Incy Wincy Designs - Winter Wonderland

Cutie Little Cupid

I saw a tutorial on SCS last week for this cute pop up card and I had to try it. And wow, was it ever easy. I'm definitely going to make more cards like this. This card is for the latest challenge over at Southern Girls. The challenge is.......da da ta da....Dry Embossing. I was happy to do this challenge cause I just got me some new Tim Holtz embossing folders and was dieing to try them out. Oh..Oh did I mention that I'm gonna be taking a class from none other than that legendary TIM HOLTZ in March *insert squeal here*. I was so excited that I almost peed my pants when I found out my registration had gone through. I wonder if he is as excited about meeting me...LOL There are three people in the papercraft industry that I would love to meet. Those people are Tim Holtz, Suzanne Dean and Jennifer McGuire. One down, 2 to go....woohoo.

Anyhoo, on with the card. The image I used on this card is from Delightful Digitals, the International Sponsor for Southern Girls. It's called Loving Cherub. There aren't that many more details in the card except maybe for the Bricked embossing folder and I used the new BoBunny Valentine paper.

Skin: E00, E11, E13, R20
Eyes: B01. B00
Hair: E59, E37, E33, Y17, Y23, Y21 (ok I went a little silly with the hair colors)

Valentine's Cards

Well, it has been a long time, no post. The holidays kept me really busy but life is starting to get back to normal. Well, at least for a few days then I have card classes starting up again. I love teaching so classes are so worth the work it takes to put them together.
I have 2 cards to show you today so make sure you keep on scrollin' to the end. The challenge at Southern Girls this fortnight is "Totally Loved Up!!!" and they have 2 awesome Digi sponsors. I fell in love with both images and felt the need to play.

The first image is from Pink Cat Studios who is one of my favorite stamp companies. It's called "Rex Ate the Valentines". When it came time for a sentiment for this card, I was going through my stamps and found one that said "Be my Valentine". I contemplated using that one but then I got to thinkin'. Rex is eating the valentines, Do I really want to be his valentine? lol So I whipped you this sentiment in Word and there you have it. I decided to make this one in blues and greens because, well, I have 2 boys in my life and I can't give them girlie girl valentines.

Copics Used:
Rex body & sky: B99, B97, B95, B91
Rex spikes & Grass: YG99, YG97, YG95, YG93
Valentines: R39, R27, R24, RV34, RV32, RV10
Shading: C1, C00

Challenges I'm putting this card in:
BunnyZoe Crafts - Love is in the Air
The Crazy Challenge - Animals
Stamp Fairy - Layer and Buttons
One Stitch in Time - Love and Valentine
CES Challenges - All Creatures Great and Small
One Stop Craft - card for a child
Do you Stack Up - Cute as a Button

My next card took a lot longer than I had planned. I'm a big fan of the monochromatic look when coloring images and this combo of black white and red is my favorite. But there were so many different sections to this image it was hard to define them all with only one color. My husband must have thought I was losing it when I was coloring this one. I keep ranting about not enough light and skinny legs. I noticed him smirking at me quite a bit. lol

This image is from Tinkled Pink Stamps and it is called "Lil Birthday Luca". I know he is supposed to be a cutie bringing a birthday gift but I think I turned him into a Valentine bearing Vampire. I read waaaay to many vampire books. (Just finished the lastest House of Night book and I'm losing it knowing that I have to wait until November for my next fix) Anyhoo, that's another story. The sentiment is another one that I did in Word. I just haven't been find what I need in rubber lately. I might have to download more fonts if I keep this up!!!

Copics Used:
Roses: R39, R29, R24
Shadow behind Luca & sentiment: R01, R00, R000, R0000 and my airbrush
Everything else: C9, C7, C5, C3, C1, C00
