I am just too obsessed with Twilight. Is it Vampire Edwin........ or Edward?

I sat down to make a project for the Magnolia-licious Tricks-n-Treats Blog Hop and decided to use the Vampire Edwin stamp. I was trying to decide on what colours to use on his face and then I thought of "Twilight" and decided to make his skin glisten just like diamonds in the sunlight, just like Edward. I am such a geek. So this project ended up being a tribute to the "Twilight" Saga. Little Edwin (Edward) is bringing a Halloween treat to Bella. I used the sketch from the Just Magnolia Challenge Week 17 pictured above.
So this is the Tricks-n-Treats Set I came up with. The apple was a piece of clipart I found on the web. I never realized how much the shadowing lines on a stamp help with shading and highlighting when you are colouring. This apple took me three tries to get some dimension in it. I wrote the Bella inscription on the bag with my copic multiliner. I knew I was going to colour it with my copic markers and I didn't want the ink to run. To make Edwin's skin glisten, I first put shimmer paint on it then covered it with Diamond Stickles. Here is a close up picture.
The coffin holds candy or whatever other treat you would like to put in it. I printed off a PDF online and that it what I used for a template.
Here is a picture of the inside of the coffin. I haven't bought any halloween candy yet so I just used some Hersey Kisses. But I guess that works seeing how my little Edward is bringing a gift to Bella.
Finally, this is a picture of the Copic Markers I used.

On a side note, I created a new yahoo group. I`ve been looking for a place to share my projects with images that are not Magnolia and I have not have that much luck, so I created a group for it. I called it Copics, Stamps, Ink. Oh My!!! It is a place to share any projects you have created that include stamped images coloured with Copic Markers. If you are interested in joining this group, click on the link below or on my sidebar. I hope to see all the wonderful copic marker creations you come up with.

Just Magnolia Week 17 Challenge

The Just Magnolia Week 17 challenge is a sketch challenge. I really like doing these challenges. I find it helps me with compostion and colour choice. I am a scientist at heart so I find I need some sort of procedure to get me going. A sketch is just that to me, a procedure.

I've been on a purple kick lately. Even though I chose patterned paper with pink in it and colored my Tilda with pinks, I had to use a Pale Plum cardstock. I'm not sure if it actually goes together. What do you think? Does it look OK? This is my first time using Flower Soft and I have to say....LOVE IT!!! It isn't easy to find this product here in Canada so I finally broke down and ordered a few jars from All That Scraps (any fellow Canadians, I recommend buying from here, you will get to best bang for your buck with shipping and all). Needless to say, I will be placing another order very soon for more colors. Below is a picture of the copic markers I used.

This is a card I made for both the Copic Creations Challenge and the Basic Grey Challenge. The Copic Creations challenge is to colour eyes. For this I used the Standing Ava digi image from InStyle Stamps, who is this weeks sponsor. The Basic Grey Challenge was a sketch challenge that I used my favorite Basic Grey paper on, Wisteria. The sketch is below.

Magnolia-licious Sketch Challenge

This is my first card using an Edwin image. Coloring and paper choice is easy enough but finding embellishments is other story. I am sure I'm not the only one to have a limited selection of masculine embellies, there just isn't that much out there. Mental note - Want to make a million $$$? Design a line of masculine products.... good ones (lol). I guess that is easier said than done. Anyway, this is the card I came up with for the August Magnolia-licious sketch challenge. I tried to make the 2 Tilda images look like they were peeking through the portholes in a ship. I had a lot of fun making this card. I hope you like it. Below is a picture of the copic markers I used.

Recipe:

Stamps: #293 Tilda with Pumpkin, #287 Tilda Picking Lilacs,#520 Row Boat, #102 Edwin with Paddle
Paper: 3 bugs in a Rug - Playtime Boats, SU Baja Breeze cardstock, Gina K white
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers
Accessories: Fibers from my stash

Birthday Card

My niece's 13th birthday is next week and this is the card I made for her. I hope she doesn't check out my blog before then. I discovered that it is not so easy to make a card for a teen girl. But these Gorjuss girl stamps are just edgy enough to pull it off, I think. The sketch is one I found online but I don't know who to give credit to, so if you know who please tell me an I would love to give them credit. The original card had an image of Tilda sitting with a lamb. Below is a picture of the copics I used. I think this is the least amount I have ever used.

Recipe:

Stamps: Sugar Nellie Gorjuss Girl, SU Tiny Tiny Wishes
Paper: My Mind's Eye Bella collection, Making Memories 12x12 geomteric brown paperie, Bazzill brown cardstock, SU whisper white, Gina K heavy white
Ink: Copic Markers, Memento Tuxedo Black & Brown, Antique Linen & Tea Dye Distress Inks
Accessories: Irene's flowers, SU rhinestone brad, SU ribbon slider, SU Chocolate Chip twill ribbon, halfback pearls, spacer from Michael's, nestabilities

What to do???

Have you ever had inspiration hit and then not have a clue what to do with your project once you were done? When the Copic Creations website had the Clear/Transparent challenge I had the idea to do the reflection technique. The problem is, once my image was finished, it was too big to fit on any card I tried to put it on. No matter what I tried it didn't look right. My finished image measures 7" x 3". So I am open for suggestions on what I should do with this image. It turned out so nice I don't want to waste it. If you have an idea please leave me a comment and let me know what it is. Have a super day!!!

Lily, you little cutie!!!

Cole finished his swimming lessons on Saturday and received his very first report card. He passed with flying colors and got his Starfish sticker. Talk about a proud mama. In his class there was a little girl who looked exactly like Lily from the Pink Cat Studio stamp collection. I just had to make her a card with Lily on it and this card is what I made for her. I kept the design really simple. I didn't want to take away from the image or the ribbon which I absolutely love.

These are the Copics I used.
