WooHoo!!!!! I made the Southern Girls Design Team

I couldn't be more excited. I was chosen the be one of the members of Southern Girls Challenge Blog's very first design team. I guess everyone crossing their fingers for me really paid off (lol). So Thank You so much. Also a Big Big Thanks to Lou & Tracy for choosing me. I've had a chance to check out the blogs of the other DT member and all I can say is WOW, there are some amazingly talented ladies on this team. I feel very honored and blessed to be a part of it. Challenges are going to start up on September 9th and I participate in my first challenge on September 23rd (yay). So be sure to check out the Southern Girls Blog and I hope you can join in on the fun!!!

On a sadder note, today's card is one I made for some friends of mine who lost their dog this past weekend. He was 13 years old and they didn't even know he was sick. We had to put down our 13 year old Boston Terrier last year but he was seriously ill, which I think makes it easier in the long run.

I was so nervous coloring this image. The stamp belongs to a friend of mine and I stamped it last year. The problem was that it was stamped on Gina K paper, which used to be my favorite, but for the past few months I've been using Cryogen paper which is my new favorite. These two papers hold the copic ink in completely different ways. I had to revert back to the way I used to color in order to color this image and let me tell you, it wasn't easy. You have to work a lot harder to get even blending with the Gina K paper. Since this was my only copy of this image I was so afraid I would mess up. I did have a few boo-boos that my colorless blender wouldn't clean up so don't look too closely. *smiles*

Challenges I'm putting this card in:

I Did It Creations - for the sketch
Totally Paper Crafts - Keep It Clean and Simple
Creative Belli - Round and Metal

This is a beautiful card. Too bad it is for such a sad occasion. It is so hard to lose a pet.

On a happier note, I love your friends image. Congratulations in your new DT post. You just might see me at the challenge.

What a sweet image. It's so hard to loose a pet and it is so sweet of you to give your friend this card. I agree with you on the GinaK. Some friends and I did a test of about 5 different papers to find out which ones were best with the copics, and the PTI paper won by a landslide. Of course, we didn't try the one you mentioned. Congrats on your DT gig!! I'm so glad you played along with the last Creative Belli Challenge and hope that you will join us tomorrow for a new one!
